Short answer

Snapchat says it regularly reviews creators for invitation and emails the address on your account if you are invited. It lists criteria such as followers, view time, age, an eligible country and Snap Star status. It also says it takes no payment for invitations and that no third party controls eligibility.

Summary
  • Snapchat says it notifies you by email if you are invited, and that no third party controls eligibility for the Monetization Program.
  • Snap says it does not accept payment of any kind in exchange for an invitation, so anyone selling one is not acting for Snapchat.
  • The Monetization Program page lists audience, age, content, country and Snap Star criteria, and says creators may be eligible for invitation, which is not a promise of one.
  • Snapchat says Creator Rewards depend on ongoing compliance, and that non-compliance may invalidate pending or available rewards.
  • One careless step can cost you your rewards or your standing, so know what you are doing before you start.

You post on Snapchat every week, your numbers look healthy and friends in the same line of work say they were invited to the Monetization Program. You have heard nothing. Or you do have Creator Rewards, and they sit as Pending with no explanation.

This guide sticks to what Snapchat's own help pages say. It covers how invitation works, the criteria Snapchat lists, how to check the country list, what Snapchat says about Creator Rewards and why you should never pay anyone for an invitation. One careless step can cost you your rewards or your standing, so know what you are doing before you start.

#How Does Snapchat Invite Creators?

Snapchat's About Snapchat’s Monetization Program page says the program rewards established creators for the content they post. Under How to Get Invited, it says Snap regularly reviews creators for potential invitation and will notify you by email at the address associated with your account if you are invited.

The page does not describe a form to apply for the program, and it does not give a date by which you will hear. So the first honest answer to why you have not been invited is that Snapchat has not said it has chosen you. Make sure the email address on your account is current, because that is where the page says the invitation comes.

#What Criteria Does Snapchat List?

The page says creators may be eligible for invitation if they meet its criteria. These are Snapchat's numbers on the page we read on 25 October 2026, and the page itself does not show a date, so check the live page before you rely on them.

AreaWhat the page says
Audience and engagementAt least 50,000 followers, and 15,000 hours of view time over the last 28 days, with at least 3,000 of those hours coming from Spotlight
AgeAt least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country
ContentOriginal, advertiser-friendly content that follows the Community Guidelines and the Content Guidelines for Recommendation Eligibility
CountryReside in an eligible country
VerificationBe a Snap Star
TermsComply with the Monetization Terms and the Creator Monetization Policy

Meeting every row does not entitle you to an invitation. The page words it as creators may be eligible, and it says Snap reviews creators for potential invitation. Treat the table as a checklist for your own account and not as a promise.

#What Is the 100 Hour Spotlight Rule?

Do not mix this number up with the 3,000 Spotlight hours above. The Monetization Program page has a separate line under How Revenue Sharing Works. It says that beginning 7 May 2026, you must maintain at least 100 hours of Total Spotlight View Time on your posts over the last 28 days to qualify for maximum Creator Rewards.

The page says to look for Daily Rewards Eligibility at the top of Insights, where you will find your Total Spotlight View Time for the last 28 days, and calls it the key metric to track. It also says Spotlight videos must be at least 30 seconds long to be eligible to earn revenue. These details are tied to that page and its 7 May 2026 date, and they may change.

#Is Malaysia on Snapchat's Country List?

The criteria say you must reside in an eligible country and link to a country list. Snapchat's In what countries and regions are Snapchatters eligible for a payout? page lists countries under three headings: Creator Midroll Ads within Stories, the Spotlight Reward Program and the Lens Creator Rewards Program.

On the page we read on 25 October 2026, Malaysia appears under Creator Midroll Ads within Stories and does not appear under the Spotlight Reward Program or the Lens Creator Rewards Program. The page does not explain how those lists relate to an invitation to the Monetization Program, so we cannot tell you what that means for your account. Read the page yourself, and treat what you see in your own Snapchat Insights as the final word.

#What Does Snap Star Have to Do With It?

Snap Star is one of the criteria. Snapchat's How do I become a Snap Star? page says that if you are a creator or public figure, becoming a Snap Star is the way to get verified on Snapchat, and it points to a form to apply. It lists the factors it considers, including account engagement, stories for a public audience, authenticity, notability and cultural relevance, and content quality. It says general interest accounts are not eligible.

The page also says no one is entitled to a Snap Star, regardless of the size of the account's audience. Use only the form linked from Snapchat's own page.

#What Does Pending Mean for Creator Rewards?

Snapchat's How do I set up my Payout Portal and cash out my Creator Rewards on Snapchat? page says a reward you receive is displayed in the All Activity section of the Creator Rewards Hub as Pending, and later moves to Available. The page states a waiting time for that change. We do not repeat it here, because it can change, so read it on the page itself.

The same page gives two points that matter if a reward seems stuck. First, it says Creator Rewards are subject to your ongoing compliance with the Community Guidelines, Spotlight Guidelines, Terms of Service, Spotlight Terms and any other applicable terms. It says non-compliance may result in the invalidation of pending or available Creator Rewards.

Second, it says Snapchat cannot pay you unless the payout information is accurate and your first and last name matches your full legal name as shown on your tax documents or government issued ID. It also says you will not be able to edit that information in your Profile once submitted, and that the information in the Snapchat app needs to match what you add in the payment partner's portal, otherwise the Payout Portal application will be rejected.

#How Does Payout Onboarding Work?

The page describes the steps in this order, without our adding anything:

  1. Open My Creator Rewards in your Profile to enter the Creator Rewards hub.
  2. Give the contact information it asks for. If you are under the legal age of majority, a parent or legal guardian must also give consent.
  3. Wait for the page to show that your Payout Portal application is in review.
  4. Follow the instructions in the email from Snapchat's payment partner, Hyperwallet, and press Activate. The page says the Access Code appears in My Creator Rewards.
  5. If you see an Access Code but no email, the page says to check your Junk or Spam folder and try to resend it.

The page also warns that if you see messages pretending to be an official Snapchat account, you should report the account immediately and not give any personal or payment information to it. Do your onboarding only inside the app, through My Creator Rewards.

#Never Pay Anyone for an Invitation

This is where scammers move in. Snapchat's Monetization Program page says Snap does not accept payment of any kind in exchange for an invitation. It says a third party promising an invitation in exchange for payment is not affiliated with Snap and is not authorised to act on its behalf. It also says no third party controls eligibility.

So an offer to get you invited, or to skip the criteria, is not a Snapchat route. Do not send money, and do not hand over your password or any login code. Our guide to spotting fake recovery services shows the signs, and our guide to a locked Snapchat account covers the official unlock steps if your login is the problem.

#What You Can Do While You Wait

  • Check that the email address on your account is one you read, as Snapchat says invitations arrive there.
  • Read the live Monetization Program page and compare the criteria with your own Insights.
  • Check the country list and read Malaysia's entry as the page shows it.
  • Review your content against the Community Guidelines and the Content Guidelines for Recommendation Eligibility.
  • If you already have rewards, keep your account within the rules the payout page lists.

If you are comparing programmes on other apps, our guide to TikTok Creator Rewards eligibility shows how that app words its own rules. Each platform sets its own.

#What the Pages Do Not Say

The pages we read do not give a way to apply for an invitation, a date for a decision or a reason for any individual decision. They do not say what a particular creator's Pending reward means beyond the compliance and payout information points above. We do not claim to know why your account was not invited.

#When It Is Safer to Get Expert Help

You can work through this by reading Snapchat's pages, and the official steps stay first. The risks are still real. Snapchat says rewards can be invalidated for non-compliance, and that payout details cannot be edited in your Profile once submitted and must match your legal name. It also says third parties selling invitations are not acting for Snap. Paying a seller of invitations or a fake helper is an easy way to lose money or an account. Our guide to spotting fake recovery services explains the pattern.

If you are unsure about any step, or the account matters for your income or business, handing the case to an experienced team such as AwareXone is the safer choice. We cannot get you invited, and we do not sell invitations. We can help you read the pages, check your account standing and plan the official steps. See our creator account help page, and use the Apply for Case Review button at the end of this guide.

#When a Case Review Makes Sense

If rewards seem to have been invalidated, your payout details do not match or someone is pressing you to pay for an invitation, a review can help you decide what to do first. SocialSafe by AwareXone is a Malaysia-based service, independent of Snapchat, that helps you use the official routes. We never ask for your password or login codes, and we cannot change Snapchat's decisions. See how we work on our trust page.
