Facebook Page Not Eligible to Be Recommended
Facebook Page not eligible to be recommended? Check Page Status for violations, review what Meta will not recommend, and know it gives no timeframe.
Open your Page, go to Settings and privacy, then Page setup and Page status, and read the violations and notices listed. Meta says it generally does not recommend Pages that recently broke its Community Standards. Its help pages give no timeframe for eligibility to return, so review the flagged items and check who manages the Page.
Summary- Meta says its Recommendations Guidelines set a higher standard than the Community Standards, so some allowed content is still not eligible for recommendation.
- Page Status, under Page setup in settings, lists violations and content from your Page that is not eligible for suggestions.
- Meta says it generally does not recommend Pages that recently violated its Community Standards, and it does not define how recently.
- Meta's pages give no timeframe for a Page to become eligible again, so nobody can honestly promise you a date or a fix.
- Anyone with Facebook access to your Page can see Page Status, and violations may come from other people who manage the Page.

Your Page reach has dropped, your posts are not being suggested to new people, and somewhere in your Page settings there is a note saying your Page or some of its content is not eligible to be recommended. You run the Page for your business or your community, and you want to know what it means, why it happened and when it will go back to normal.
The short answer: this is a recommendation limit, not a takedown. Meta applies a higher standard to what it recommends than to what it allows, and Page Status is where you can see what has been flagged. Meta's help pages do not give a timeframe for eligibility to return, so any promise of a quick fix, from anyone, goes beyond what Meta says.
This guide explains what the label means, how to open Page Status, what Meta says it does not recommend, what an admin can review, and what Meta does not tell you.

#What Does Not Eligible to Be Recommended Mean for a Facebook Page?
Meta's page on recommendations on Facebook says Facebook and Instagram may recommend content, accounts and entities, such as Pages, groups or events, that people do not already follow. Examples include Pages you may like and Suggested for you posts in Feed.
The same page says Meta's Recommendations Guidelines are "designed to maintain a higher standard than our Community Standards, because recommended content and connections are from accounts or entities that you haven't chosen to follow." It adds that not all content allowed on the platform will be eligible for recommendation.
Meta's page treats recommendation as separate from what is allowed on the platform, so this label is not the same as a takedown. The page describes the guidelines as rules about what Meta will and will not recommend. It does not describe a penalty with an end date.
#How Do I Check Page Status?
Meta's Page Status help page says anyone who has Facebook access to your Page can visit Page Status. It lists these steps.
- Log in to Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
- Click See all profiles, then select the Page you want to switch into.
- Click your Page profile picture in the top right.
- Click Settings and privacy, then click Settings.
- In the left menu, click Page setup, then click Page status.
Menu labels differ between app versions and between Page layouts, so look for Page status under your Page settings if the wording on your screen is different. Meta is also moving some people to Meta Account settings.
#What Does Page Status Show?
According to Meta's help page, Page Status can show the following.
- Recent Community Standards violations.
- Content shared by your Page that has been rated by third-party fact-checkers.
- Intellectual property rights violations.
- Content identified as clickbait.
- Violations for sharing too much content from other sources.
- Events take-downs.
- Content shared by your Page that is not eligible for suggestions.
Meta says this includes violations and content that may have come from actions by other people who manage your Page. It also says Page Status does not cover every area of its policies, so a violation can exist that Page Status does not yet reflect.
For Community Standards violations, the page says you can click See details, then either accept the decision or request a review, depending on the type of violation. Not every item offers a review button.
#What Does Meta Say It Does Not Recommend?
The recommendations help page lists what Meta generally does not recommend. For accounts and entities such as Pages, it says Meta generally does not recommend those that:
- Recently violated the Community Standards, excluding those removed for violating them.
- Repeatedly or recently shared content in the categories Meta tries not to recommend.
- Repeatedly engaged in misleading practices to build followings, such as purchasing likes.
- Recently and repeatedly posted content rated False or Altered by independent fact-checkers, in countries where Meta supports third-party fact-checking.
For content, it describes three categories that are allowed but may not be eligible: content that impedes a safe community (for example material about self-harm, violence, sexually suggestive imagery or certain regulated products), content tied to low-quality publishing (for example unoriginal content largely repurposed from another source, or coordinated comment networks meant to drive engagement), and false or misleading content.
Meta uses the word recently without defining it, and the page gives no length of time. We cannot tell you how long a past violation counts against a Page.
#What Can an Admin Review Now?
These steps are about understanding what Meta has flagged. They do not force a change, and Meta does not say any of them restores eligibility.
- Open Page status and read every item, including the Recent violations list.
- Click See details on each violation, and request a review only where the option is offered and you believe the decision was wrong.
- Check who has access. Go to Page setup, then Page access, and remove anyone you do not know or no longer work with.
- Look at your recent posts against the lists above, for example content largely copied from other sources, or comment networks meant to drive engagement.
- If you ever bought likes or followers, stop. Meta lists purchasing likes as a misleading practice.
- Keep a dated record of what Page Status showed and what you changed, so you can compare later.
Meta's page on why Pages are taken down or limited is about stronger actions. It says that if you believe your Page was taken down or limited by mistake, you can appeal by going to the Page and clicking Appeal at the top. Among its common reasons for limits, it lists admins who do not have authentic profiles and people who manage the Page acting against the Community Standards, so check your admins first.
#What About Business Support Home?
If you also run ads or use a business portfolio, Meta's Business Support Home page says you can review the status of your business portfolios, ad accounts, commerce accounts, catalogues and Pages there, and learn what actions you can take if an account or Page has been disabled or restricted. It also says you can confirm in your account overview whether an email, text or call claiming to come from Meta about your accounts is real.
That check matters because Meta's page says you can use it to confirm whether an email, text or call claiming to be from Meta is real. Our guide to fake Page policy violation messages shows what these look like. For Page owners in Malaysia who rely on Facebook for sales, it is worth checking Business Support Home as well as Page Status, because Business Support Home covers business portfolios, ad accounts and Pages while Page Status covers a single Page's violations and content.
#What Meta Does Not Tell You
Meta's pages explain what it does not recommend, but they do not say how a Page becomes eligible again. They give no timeframe, no number of posts to remove, and no assurance that a review will change anything. None of the pages we read says how or when eligibility returns, so we will not claim it.
That means two things. First, be wary of anyone who sells a fix with a date attached, because Meta has not published one. Second, keep posting original content that follows the Community Standards, and keep checking Page Status. If your Page was also unpublished, our guide to an unpublished Facebook Page covers that state, and our guide to a restricted Page in Malaysia covers another.
#When a Case Review Makes Sense
If Page Status shows violations you do not understand, or someone who used to manage the Page may have caused them, a review can help you read the notices, check access and decide which official step comes first. SocialSafe by AwareXone is a Malaysia-based service, independent of Meta, that helps you use Meta's official tools. We never ask for your password or login codes and we cannot change Meta's decisions. See our Facebook Page recovery help and how we work on our trust page.
