TikTok Shop Account Deactivated? Appeal Steps in Malaysia

TikTok Shop account deactivated in Malaysia? How the Account Health Rating works, what 150, 100, 50 and 0 points mean, and how to appeal within 30 days.

11 min read
Short answer

A deactivated shop is an enforcement decision under the Account Health Rating, not a hack or a TikTok account ban. Open Seller Center, read the violation ticket and screenshot the reason, date and points. Appeal from that ticket within 30 days with real documents. You get two appeals at most, and TikTok Shop makes the final decision.

Summary
  • A deactivated TikTok Shop is an enforcement decision under the Account Health Rating, which replaced violation points, and it is separate from a TikTok account ban.
  • Open Seller Center, check your Account Health Rating and the violation ticket, and screenshot the reason, the date and any points deducted.
  • Appeal through the appeal option in that violation ticket, with a short factual explanation and real documents, well inside the deadline shown.
  • You get at most two appeals per enforcement action, and a decision is final once the second appeal is rejected.
  • Do not open a replacement shop, pay unban sellers or share login codes with anyone who offers help, because nobody outside TikTok Shop can reinstate a shop.
  • TikTok Shop makes the final decision, some shops are not reactivated, and a shop that reaches zero points is permanently deactivated.

You log in to Seller Center to print today's shipping labels and a banner says your shop has been deactivated. Your listings are gone from the Shop tab, LIVE traffic has dropped, and your balance shows as on hold. You still have parcels half packed on the floor and customers asking where their orders are.

A TikTok Shop deactivation is an enforcement decision, not a hack and not a TikTok account ban. In Malaysia it is usually tied to your shop's Account Health Rating, and the way back is the appeal inside the violation ticket, within 30 days. You get two attempts at most, so the first one should be your best.

This guide covers how the rating works, what each threshold does, how to appeal, what evidence helps and what happens to your balance.

#What Should You Do If Your TikTok Shop Account Is Deactivated?

Log in to Seller Center, open Account Health, and read your Account Health Rating and the violation ticket behind the deactivation. Screenshot the reason, the date and the points deducted. If you believe the decision is wrong, use the appeal option in that ticket within 30 days, with a short factual explanation and genuine documents such as invoices and brand authorisation letters. You can appeal the same action twice at most. TikTok Shop decides every appeal, and nobody outside it, including AwareXone, can reactivate a shop.

#Which Situation Are You In?

The same word "deactivated" can mean a 28-day pause or the end of the shop. Find the line that matches what Seller Center shows you. Notice wording can vary between versions of Seller Center, so read your own ticket closely.

#How the Account Health Rating Works

The Account Health Rating, or AHR, is a score that shows how well your shop follows TikTok Shop's policies. TikTok Shop's Account Health Rating page for Malaysian sellers says the score runs from 0 to 1,000, is calculated from the last 90 days of activity, and has fully replaced the old Violation Points system. Every new seller starts on 200 points. Only you can see the score, in Seller Center under Account Health.

  • Healthy: 200 to 1,000 points.
  • Needs improvement: 151 to 199 points.
  • At risk of deactivation: 1 to 150 points, where milestone enforcements may apply.
  • Deactivated: 0 points.

The same page says you earn 4 points for every 200 completed orders in a rolling 90-day window, and 5 points for a perfect score on the policy quiz linked to a violation. Deducted points reset after 90 days unless an appeal or a correction restores them sooner. The Seller Enforcement Policy adds that TikTok Shop sends a formal warning 20 points before each enforcement threshold.

#What Happens at 150, 100, 50 and 0 Points?

TikTok Shop calls these penalties milestone enforcements. They stack on top of whatever action the individual violation already carried. The figures below come from the Malaysian AHR page and the Seller Enforcement Policy, which lists Malaysia among the markets it applies to.

#Which Violations Cost the Most Points?

Deductions depend on severity and frequency. Several categories can close a shop outright, whatever your score.

  • Inauthentic qualifications (documents that are not genuine): 50 points, up to shop closure.
  • Missing or expired qualifications: 25 and 15 points, up to shop closure.
  • Listing or shipping prohibited products: 25 points, up to shop closure.
  • Counterfeit products: 15 points, up to shop closure.
  • Inappropriate customer communication: up to 50 points.
  • Reproduced content, and activities prohibited by law: shop closure.
  • High late dispatch or seller-fault cancellation rates: up to 10 points each.

One rule catches many Malaysian sellers used to selling through chat apps. The Seller Enforcement Policy treats misuse of buyer personal information strictly, up to permanent deactivation, and lists sharing your phone number, email or social handles in chats, listings or parcel inserts as prohibited. A thank-you card with your personal number in every parcel can count.

#Can Your Linked TikTok Account or Another Shop Be Affected?

Yes. The Seller Enforcement Policy says TikTok Shop may act against associated accounts, meaning other seller, creator or TikTok accounts it believes are connected to yours. The AHR page also says TikTok Shop may take joint penalties on your shop if your linked creator account breaks platform policies or guidelines.

A ban on the TikTok account itself has its own appeal route in the app. If your problem started with a banned TikTok profile, our guide to TikTok bans and appeals in Malaysia covers that side first.

#How to Appeal a TikTok Shop Deactivation

The Seller Enforcement Policy says a seller who believes an action was taken in error can appeal through the appeal function in the enforcement notification. The AHR page says point deductions are appealed through the relevant violation ticket. At the time of writing, the steps look like this:

  1. Log in to Seller Center, open Account Health, and find the violation ticket linked to the deactivation. Menu labels can differ between versions.
  2. Screenshot the whole ticket: the reason, the policy named, the product or content affected, the date and the points deducted.
  3. Find the real cause and fix it first: correct the listing, renew an expired certificate, or stop the practice named.
  4. Use the appeal option in the ticket. Write four or five factual sentences: what you sell, why the decision is wrong, and what you have corrected.
  5. Attach genuine documents that answer the specific reason given, then submit once and watch Seller Center and your registered email.

The deadlines are strict. Under the Seller Enforcement Policy, you can appeal one enforcement action at most twice. The first appeal must be made within 30 days of the notification, and the second within 15 calendar days of the first rejection. Appeals made after that are not reviewed.

#What Happens to Your Balance While You Appeal?

The Seller Enforcement Policy says that if TikTok Shop reasonably believes a seller broke its policies, it may withhold money due, including sales proceeds, for 180 calendar days from the notification or until its investigation ends, whichever is longer.

Examples it gives include significantly not as described products, fake orders, unauthorised access, abuse of platform incentives and not turning on 2-step verification. After a successful appeal, TikTok Shop says it releases the money. If a breach caused losses to buyers or others, it may take compensation from the balance first.

#Appeal Evidence Checklist

Evidence should answer the exact reason in the ticket: a counterfeit ticket needs proof of where the stock came from, a qualification ticket needs the missing document.

  • Screenshots of the violation ticket and the Account Health Rating page, with dates visible.
  • Your SSM business registration, if you have one, and identity documents in the same name as the shop.
  • Supplier invoices for the flagged products, showing the supplier's name and the date.
  • A brand authorisation letter or distributor agreement for branded goods you did not make.
  • Any licence or certificate a Malaysian regulator requires for that product category, still in date.
  • For fulfilment tickets: courier tracking that shows when parcels were handed over.
  • A note of what you submitted and when, so you do not waste an appeal by accident.

Our guide to the records that prove an account is yours covers identity evidence in more depth. Never edit or create a document to fit the appeal: inauthentic qualifications are themselves a violation that can close a shop.

#Mistakes That End TikTok Shop Appeals

  • Opening a new shop while the old one is deactivated. The associated accounts rule means a connected shop can be penalised too.
  • Using up both appeals quickly with a vague message. Save the second for new facts or better documents.
  • Waiting for the shop to come back on its own and missing the 30-day window.
  • Submitting edited, borrowed or unrelated documents.
  • Arguing about fairness instead of answering the reason in the ticket, or leaving the cause in place.
  • Paying an agent who says they can "unlock" the shop through a contact at TikTok.

#What If Someone Else Caused the Violations?

Sometimes the owner did nothing wrong: a staff member with a shared login, or an attacker who listed prohibited goods or changed payout details. Unauthorised access is one of the triggers the policy names for withholding a balance, so the order of steps matters.

  1. Secure the email on the seller account and the linked TikTok account first: change the passwords and sign out other sessions.
  2. Turn on 2-step verification. TikTok's privacy and security guide says it protects you from unrecognised devices if your password is stolen. Our 2FA setup guide walks through it.
  3. If you cannot get into the TikTok account at all, follow our guide to recovering a TikTok account in Malaysia before you appeal.
  4. In the appeal, say plainly that the account was accessed without your permission, roughly when, and which changes were not yours.
  5. If money was lost, call the National Scam Response Centre on 997. The government's NSRC 997 page says to call within 24 hours, contact your bank and make a police report.
  6. You can also report the incident to CyberSecurity Malaysia's Cyber999 service, the national point of contact for computer security incidents.

#What If Both Appeals Are Rejected?

Once the second appeal is rejected, the Seller Enforcement Policy says the decision is final. It also says sellers will be told about the possibility of out-of-court dispute settlement and other redress, so read the rejection notice for any route it names. For a shop at 0 points, the AHR page says reactivation is at TikTok Shop's sole discretion.

If the shop does not come back, keep your own order and supplier records, and do not start a replacement shop in a family member's name. That is the kind of connection the associated accounts rule describes.

#When Expert Recovery Help Makes Sense

Many sellers can handle a wrong violation ticket on their own with the steps above. A second pair of eyes helps when the shop is your main income, when a takeover and a deactivation are mixed up, or when you have one appeal left. SocialSafe by AwareXone, our recovery service, looks at the ticket and what you have tried, then tells you honestly whether an official route is still open. Our business and creator recovery service explains how that review works, and our Trust Center sets out what we will never ask you for.

#Frequently Asked Questions

Why was my TikTok Shop deactivated without warning?
TikTok Shop says it sends a formal warning 20 points before each threshold, but some violations, such as reproduced content or activities prohibited by law, can close a shop directly. Check Account Health for the ticket that caused it.
Do violation points still apply to TikTok Shop Malaysia?
No. TikTok Shop says the Account Health Rating has fully replaced the Violation Points system, and all enforcement actions are now based on your AHR score.
How do I get my AHR score back up?
Deducted points reset after 90 days, completed orders earn points weekly, and a perfect policy quiz score after a violation earns 5 points. A successful appeal restores the points for that ticket.
Can I open a new TikTok Shop if my old one is deactivated?
It is risky. The Seller Enforcement Policy lets TikTok Shop act against accounts it believes are connected to a shop that broke its rules, so a new shop can be penalised as well.
Can AwareXone reactivate my TikTok Shop?
No. Only TikTok Shop can reactivate a shop. SocialSafe by AwareXone reviews your case, checks which official routes are still open and helps you prepare an accurate appeal, and we never ask for your password or login codes.
