Meta Ad Account Disabled in Malaysia? Appeal Steps
Meta ad account or Business Portfolio disabled in Malaysia? Work out which asset is restricted, appeal in Account Quality, and handle hacked ad spend.
Reviewed by Md Shariar Shanaz Shuvon, Founder & CEO of AwareXone.
If a Meta ad account or business portfolio is disabled in Malaysia, open Account Quality, file the matching appeal with clear business evidence, and avoid creating lookalike assets that look like evasion. Meta decides the outcome. Call your bank immediately if you see unauthorised ad spend on saved cards.
Summary- Three different things can be restricted: the ad account, the Business Portfolio, or the admin's personal profile. Each has its own fix.
- Account Quality is Meta's official place to see restrictions and request a review.
- Hacked and charged? Contact your bank first, then NSRC 997 and a police report.
- Business verification failures usually come down to mismatched documents, such as SSM registration details that don't match the portfolio.
- Nobody can promise reinstatement or a timeline, and nobody outside Meta has partner-level access to reverse decisions.

Quick answer: If Meta has disabled your ad account or Business Portfolio (formerly Business Manager), first work out which asset is restricted: the ad account, the Business Portfolio, or the personal profile of the admin behind it. Then open Account Quality (business.facebook.com/accountquality) and request a review for that asset. If a hacker ran ads on your card, contact your bank straight away and, in Malaysia, call the National Scam Response Centre on 997. Don't create new accounts to get around a restriction, because Meta's policies prohibit it.
#Which asset is restricted?
Meta's Business Help Centre separates disabled or restricted accounts from restrictions on advertising (Meta Business Help: disabled or restricted accounts; Meta Business Help: about advertising restrictions). Getting this right matters, because appealing the wrong asset wastes time.
#Ad account
Signs: one ad account shows "disabled" or "restricted" in Ads Manager, but your other ad accounts and your Business Portfolio still work. Common triggers include ad policy violations, payment failures and suspicious activity. Failed payments have their own help page (Meta Business Help: failed payments). See our deep dive: Facebook ad account disabled in Malaysia.
#Business Portfolio (Business Manager)
Signs: every ad account, Page and pixel inside the portfolio is affected, or you see "this business is restricted from advertising". See Business Portfolio restricted from advertising.
#Personal profile behind the admin
Signs: you personally see "you're restricted from advertising" or your profile is disabled, even though the business itself looks fine. Meta applies advertising restrictions to individuals as well as businesses (Meta Business Help: request a review if you're restricted from advertising). See restricted from advertising on Meta.
| What you see | Most likely asset | Where to act |
|---|---|---|
| One ad account disabled, others fine | Ad account | Account Quality → that ad account |
| All assets in the portfolio blocked | Business Portfolio | Account Quality → the business |
| "You're restricted from advertising" on your profile | Personal profile | Account Quality → your profile |
| Profile disabled entirely | Personal profile | Disabled-account review on Facebook |
#How do I appeal in Account Quality?
- Log in with the admin profile and open Account Quality at business.facebook.com/accountquality.
- Select the restricted asset in the left panel (your profile, the business or the ad account).
- Read the reason Meta shows, if any, and the policy linked to it.
- Choose "Request review" (the wording can vary) and follow the steps. These may include confirming your identity.
- Answer accurately and briefly. Explain what the business does and, if relevant, what you've already fixed (for example, removed a non-compliant ad or updated payment details).
- Record everything: screenshots of the restriction, the date you requested review and any reference shown.
- Wait for the outcome in Account Quality and your email. Don't submit duplicate reviews.
Meta doesn't publish a promised review time, so we don't give one. Meta does not publish a promised Business Manager review time. In practice, Account Quality reviews can return in days or stretch to weeks depending on the queue and how complete the evidence is. Treat any timing note as an observation of platform review, not a deadline we control.
#The hacker ran ads on my card. What do I do in Malaysia?
- Call your bank or card issuer immediately. Ask them to block the card and dispute the unauthorised charges.
- Call NSRC on 997 if money was lost to fraud (MyGOV), and make a police report.
- Recover the hacked profile through facebook.com/hacked (Facebook Help: recover a hacked account).
- Recover the business through Meta's business portfolio recovery route (Meta Business Help).
- Remove unknown admins and payment methods once you're back in.

#What if business verification fails?
Meta's verification asks for documents that show your business's legal name, address and phone or website (Meta Business Help: verify your business). In Malaysia, failures commonly come from:
- an SSM name that doesn't exactly match the name entered in the portfolio;
- an address on the document that differs from the one entered;
- a website or domain that doesn't show the business details;
- blurred or cropped document uploads.
Fix the mismatch and resubmit. See Meta business verification failed in Malaysia.
#How do I harden admins and payment methods after reinstatement?
- Keep at least two trusted admins on every Business Portfolio, each with two-factor authentication.
- Remove former staff, agencies and unknown partners.
- Review payment methods and set spending limits.
- Turn on login alerts for every admin profile.
- Keep a record of your SSM documents and domain verification ready for future checks.
Our checklist: protect business social accounts.
#When is outside help worth paying for?
When revenue is stopping and the case involves more than one asset, a hacked admin, rejected reviews, or verification loops. SocialSafe by AwareXone handles Business Manager cases through official channels only. We have no Meta partner status and no special platform-staff access, we never ask for passwords or one-time codes, and we don't promise reinstatement or timelines. We reply within 5 hours between 9am and 11pm MYT. Malaysian cases start from the quoted fee and clients outside Malaysia are quoted and billed in USD, with the fee confirmed after case review. See SocialSafe by AwareXone Business Manager recovery and business and creator recovery.
