Lazada Seller Account Suspended? What to Do in Malaysia
Lazada seller account suspended or store deactivated in Malaysia? What 48 non-compliance points mean, how to read the notice and appeal through Seller Center.
A suspended or deactivated Lazada store is an enforcement decision, not a hack, usually after non-compliance points or a serious violation. Log in to Seller Center, screenshot the penalty notice, fix the listings behind it and gather genuine invoices. Then appeal only through the channel and deadline the notice gives. Lazada makes the final decision.
Summary- A suspended or deactivated Lazada store is an enforcement decision under Lazada's seller terms and policies, not a hack, and it usually follows non-compliance points or a serious violation.
- Lazada's own policy material says that reaching 48 non-compliance points deactivates a store, and serious breaches such as counterfeit or prohibited products can deactivate it straight away.
- Log in to Seller Center, screenshot the penalty notice, and follow the appeal channel and deadline that the notice itself gives you.
- Remove or fix the listings behind the violation and gather genuine invoices, brand authorisation letters and business registration documents before you appeal.
- Do not open a second store, buy another seller account or pay a so-called Lazada officer to unban you, and never share your password or a login code.
- Lazada makes the final decision, it may hold your payouts while it investigates, and some stores are not reactivated.

You open Lazada Seller Center to pack the morning's orders and find a penalty notice instead. Your listings have dropped off the storefront, a store status says deactivated or suspended, and your next payout looks stuck. Buyers are already asking where their parcels are.
The short answer: a Lazada store suspension is an enforcement decision, not a takeover. It usually follows non-compliance points or one serious violation. The way back runs through Seller Center and Lazada's official support channels, using the appeal route and deadline written in your own notice. Fix the cause before you appeal, and send real documents.
This guide explains what Lazada documents about points and deactivation, how to tell which situation you are in, what to prepare, and the scams aimed at sellers who have just lost their store.

#What Should You Do If Your Lazada Seller Account Is Suspended?
Log in to Seller Center and read the penalty or violation notice in full. Screenshot the reason, the policy named, the products listed and the date. Find the listing or practice behind it and fix it, then gather documents that answer that exact reason, such as supplier invoices or a brand authorisation letter. Submit your appeal only through the channel and within the time the notice gives you, and reply only through Seller Center or official Lazada support. Lazada decides every case, and nobody outside Lazada, including AwareXone, can reactivate a store.
#What Does Lazada Actually Document About Suspension?
Lazada publishes less about its appeal process than some platforms. Its seller help centre loads inside Seller Center, and we could not find a public page that sets out the appeal steps. What Lazada does publish is clear about when a store can be closed.
Lazada's Malaysian Terms of Service (Seller) say it may deactivate a Seller Account with immediate effect, and withhold outstanding payables, if a seller breaches intellectual property rules, sells counterfeit or prohibited products, breaks the law, reaches the maximum number of non-compliance points set out in the policies, or uses Seller Center fraudulently.
A Lazada University course on prohibited and controlled products for Malaysia states the points threshold directly:
Accumulation of 48 non-compliance points will result in an immediate deactivation of your store.
The same course says a seller can be issued up to 48 non-compliance points per product for some violations. One listing can be enough. Lazada's IPR protection report adds that new sellers are taught the consequences of non-compliance, which it describes as escalating penalties, account suspension and then account termination.
#Which Situation Are You In?
Sellers use "suspended", "deactivated" and "banned" for several different things. Match what you see to a line below before you act.
| What you see | What it usually means | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| Some products delisted or locked, store still live | Lazada acted on individual listings, which its seller terms allow for any product that breaks the rules | Read the reason for each product, fix or remove it, and check whether points were issued |
| Promotions or campaigns switched off, or your store name reset | A restriction short of deactivation, also listed in Lazada's seller terms | Fix the cause named in the notice and watch your points closely |
| Store deactivated after a points notice | Your non-compliance points reached the threshold, which Lazada's policy course puts at 48 | Screenshot every violation behind the total and appeal the ones you can show were wrong |
| Store deactivated suddenly, with a counterfeit, IP or prohibited product reason | A serious violation, which the seller terms say can close a store with immediate effect | Gather proof of where the stock came from and your right to sell it, then appeal through the notice |
| Payout on hold or cancelled | Lazada may hold payments during an investigation or dispute | Keep fulfilling what you can, keep records, and raise it through Seller Center |
| You cannot log in, or the email, phone or bank details changed | Probably a takeover, not an enforcement decision | Secure your email and phone first, then report unauthorised access to Lazada |
#Why Lazada Suspends Seller Accounts
Most suspensions trace back to what was listed or how the store traded. From Lazada's own material, the main triggers are:
- Prohibited products. The Malaysian policy course lists examples that are not allowed, such as local SIM cards (travel SIM cards for use outside Malaysia are the exception) and replica firearm items.
- Controlled products without a licence. The same course says animal feed and pet food sold on Lazada must be approved by the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia, and the seller needs the relevant licence.
- Counterfeits and intellectual property complaints. Rights holders file takedown requests through Lazada's IP protection platform, and the seller terms name IP breaches as grounds for deactivation.
- Breaking the law, or fraudulent use of Seller Center, both named in the seller terms.
- Points building up from repeated smaller violations until the store reaches the threshold.
If staff or an agency run your store, remember that Lazada's seller terms treat every action taken on the Seller Account on your behalf as authorised, unless you told Lazada in writing beforehand that the person had no authority. A careless listing by an assistant still counts against your store.
#How to Appeal a Lazada Store Deactivation
Lazada does not publish its appeal steps on a public page, so follow what your notice says. At the time of writing, sellers see penalties and appeal options inside Seller Center, often under an account health or penalty section, but menu names change. A careful appeal usually looks like this:
- Log in to Seller Center directly, by typing the address or opening the official Lazada Seller Center app, not through a link in a message.
- Open the penalty or violation notice and screenshot all of it: reason, policy, product, points and date.
- Note the appeal channel and any deadline the notice gives. If it does not show one, ask through official Lazada seller support before the chance passes.
- Fix the cause first. Delist the product, correct the listing, renew an expired licence or stop the practice named.
- Write a short, factual appeal: what you sell, why the decision is wrong or what you have corrected, and which documents prove it.
- Attach genuine documents that match the reason, submit once, and watch Seller Center and your registered email for the reply.
If the violation came from an intellectual property complaint, Lazada's IP protection guide says merchants may submit a counter-notification disputing the allegation once a takedown is processed, and the rights holder can then accept it and reinstate the listing. Only use that route if you genuinely have the right to sell the goods.
For where to ask for help, Lazada's Seller Help Center lists its official seller channels, including the Help Center itself and the Official Lazada Sellers Group Malaysia on Facebook. Anything outside the channels Lazada names should be treated with suspicion.
#Appeal Evidence Checklist
Evidence works when it answers the specific reason in the notice. A counterfeit reason needs proof of where the stock came from; a licence reason needs the licence.
- Screenshots of the penalty notice and your points record, with dates visible.
- Business registration documents and identity documents in the same name as the Seller Account.
- Supplier invoices for the flagged products, showing the supplier's name, the product and the date.
- A brand authorisation letter or distributor agreement for branded goods you did not make.
- Any licence or approval a Malaysian authority requires for that product category, still in date.
- Before and after screenshots showing the listing you corrected or removed.
- A note of what you submitted and when, so you do not repeat yourself or miss a reply.
Never edit, borrow or create a document to fit the appeal. A forged invoice turns a disputed violation into a fraud finding, which the seller terms list as grounds for deactivation on its own. Our guide to proving an account belongs to you covers identity evidence in more depth.
#What Happens to Your Payouts?
This is often the most urgent question. Lazada's Malaysian seller terms say it may delay, suspend or cancel a payment if it reasonably concludes there has been a breach, a dispute or a buyer claim. It may withhold payment for the longest of 90 days, the end of its investigation, or the resolution of the dispute. The terms also say a cancelled payment is forfeited.
The same terms let Lazada apply withheld amounts towards buyer refunds, rebates and any penalties or fines. Keep your own order, delivery and bank records from the day the notice arrives, because you may need them later. The terms also say disputes are first to be resolved amicably, and then by arbitration if that fails.
#Mistakes That End Lazada Appeals
- Opening a new store under a relative's name while the old one is deactivated. It sidesteps the penalty instead of answering it, and Lazada's seller account deletion terms show it links a phone number, email and store name to a Seller Account and does not let them be reused freely.
- Buying or renting another seller's account. The seller terms say you cannot transfer your rights under them without Lazada's written consent.
- Appealing before fixing the listing, so the reason is still live when Lazada reviews it.
- Sending a long complaint about fairness instead of answering the reason in the notice.
- Submitting edited, borrowed or unrelated documents.
- Missing the window in the notice because you waited for the store to come back on its own.
- Asking to delete the account to start fresh. The deletion terms say a store under investigation or penalty is not in good standing for deletion.
#What If Someone Else Caused the Violations?
Sometimes the owner did nothing wrong: a former staff member still had access, or an attacker got in and listed prohibited goods or changed the bank details. The order of steps matters.
- Secure the email and phone number on the Seller Account first. Change the email password and sign out other sessions.
- Change your Seller Center password, and remove any authorised user who should not have access. Lazada's deletion terms describe one Owner Account with authorised users whose roles the owner controls.
- Report the unauthorised use to Lazada straight away. Lazada's Terms of Use say you must notify it of any unauthorised use of your password or account.
- In your appeal, say plainly that the account was accessed without permission, roughly when, and which listings or changes were not yours.
- If money was lost, call the National Scam Response Centre on 997. The government's NSRC 997 page says to call within 24 hours of discovering the scam, contact your bank and make a police report.
A phishing page or fake Seller Center login can also be reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia's Cyber999 service, the national point of contact for computer security incidents. If you think you typed your password into a fake page, our guide on what to do after clicking a phishing link goes through the clean-up.
#What If Lazada Rejects Your Appeal?
Read the rejection for any further route it names. If it gives a new reason, answer that reason with new facts or better documents through the same official channel. If the decision stands, Lazada's terms give it the final say over deactivation, and some stores are not reactivated.
If you sell on other marketplaces, keep them clean and separate rather than moving the same stock across. Our guides to a frozen Shopee seller account and a deactivated TikTok Shop cover how those platforms handle similar cases.
#When a Case Review Makes Sense
Many sellers can handle a wrong violation notice alone with the steps above. A second opinion helps when the store is your main income, when a takeover and a penalty are mixed together, or when you are unsure which documents answer the reason. SocialSafe by AwareXone, our recovery service, reviews the notice and what you have already tried, then tells you honestly whether an official route is still open. Our business and creator recovery service explains how that review works, and our Trust Center sets out what we never ask for, starting with your password and login codes.
