How to Contact Meta Support and Reach a Real Human
Meta has no general public phone number for Facebook or Instagram. Which official channel fits your problem, and when a human actually replies.
Meta has no general public phone number for Facebook or Instagram, and says numbers claiming to be Meta support are potentially scams. Use the Help Centre, the in-app support hub and the Meta AI support assistant. Human chat and email agents come with an active Meta Verified subscription; advertisers use Business Support Home.
Summary- Meta has no general public phone number for Facebook or Instagram, and it says numbers claiming to be Meta support are potentially scams.
- For most problems the official routes are the Help Centre, the support hub in the app and the Meta AI support assistant, which is an AI and not a person.
- If you are locked out or hacked, start with the official recovery flows at facebook.com/hacked or Instagram's hacked account page before anything else.
- Human chat and email agents are a benefit of an active Meta Verified subscription, and advertisers contact Meta through Business Support Home.
- Nobody from Meta will ask for your password, login codes or backup codes, so treat any hotline, comment or chat offering that kind of help as a scam.
- Even a real human agent cannot promise an outcome, because Meta's own systems and policies make the final decision on every account.

Your Facebook or Instagram account is locked, hacked or disabled, and every help page sends you round in a circle. You search for a Facebook customer service number, or "cara hubungi Facebook support manusia", hoping someone at Meta will just pick up the phone.
The short answer: there is no general public Meta phone number to call. There are real support channels, though, and which one you can use depends on your problem and on whether you subscribe to Meta Verified or run ads.
This guide maps each official channel to the situation it fits, explains when a human actually replies, and shows how to spot the fake "Meta agents" who target people searching for exactly this.

#Can You Talk to a Real Person at Meta Support?
Usually not by phone, and only in specific cases by chat or email. Meta's page on phone support availability says Meta, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads and WhatsApp, does not have a general public phone number for customer service, and that phone numbers claiming to be Meta support are potentially scams. Meta adds that it may offer specialised phone support in some jurisdictions or for some products, but that is not a number to look up online. For most people the routes are the Help Centre, the support hub in the app and the Meta AI support assistant. Human agents by chat and email are a benefit of an active Meta Verified subscription, and advertisers contact Meta through Business Support Home. Nobody outside Meta, including AwareXone, can open a back door to a Meta employee.
#Which Meta Support Channel Fits Your Problem?
Meta lists its channels on the same page on Instagram's Help Centre. Match your situation to a row before you start, because the wrong channel wastes time. Menu names vary by app version and region, and Meta is moving some people from Accounts Center to Meta Account settings.
| Your situation | Official channel | Is a human involved? |
|---|---|---|
| A how-to question, a setting, a feature that is not working | The Facebook or Instagram Help Centre, or the Meta AI support assistant | No. The assistant is AI and can make mistakes, Meta says |
| Hacked, or the email and phone on the account were changed | facebook.com/hacked, or the hacked account steps in Instagram's Help Centre | Mostly automated checks; Instagram may ask for identity details or a video selfie |
| Account disabled or content removed | The appeal or "Request a review" option in the notice itself | Meta says people keep a key role in decisions such as appeals of disabled accounts |
| You have an active Meta Verified subscription | Meta Verified support inside the Facebook or Instagram app | Yes: chat and email with human agents, plus phone callbacks on higher plans |
| You run ads, or a business asset has a policy problem | Meta Business Support Home | Meta lists it as the advertiser contact route |
| Someone calls, comments or messages you as "Meta support" | Do not engage. Report the account or post in the app | Treat it as a scam until proven otherwise |
#The Meta AI Support Assistant: What It Can and Cannot Do
The newest channel is an AI. Meta announced on 19 March 2026 that it was rolling out the Meta AI support assistant in countries where Meta AI is available, inside the Facebook and Instagram apps for iOS and Android and in the desktop Help Centre. Before that, in December 2025, Meta launched a support hub in both apps where you can report an account issue and search for answers.
Meta's help page on the assistant says you start a chat from any Help Centre page by selecting "Ask a question..." while logged in on that browser. It can troubleshoot settings and passwords, walk you through an appeal, help secure an account you think is compromised, and check your account status. Meta also says it cannot edit your account or act on your behalf without your consent.
- It is not a person. Meta's own page says the AI can make mistakes and asks you to flag wrong answers with "Thumbs down".
- It may not help if you cannot log in. Meta said help for people locked out started with select cases in the US and Canada, with more countries to follow. At the time of writing it is not clear when that reaches Malaysia.
- It is not a guaranteed route to a human. Use it for answers and guided steps, not as a queue for an agent.
- It only lives inside the official apps and Help Centre. An "AI support" chat reached from a search ad or a link in a message is not Meta.
#Locked Out or Hacked: The Official Recovery Flows Come First
If you cannot get into the account, no chat or phone call replaces the recovery flow. These are the pages Meta itself sends hacked users to, and they are free.
- For Facebook, open facebook.com/hacked yourself. Meta's page asks you to start the steps on the device you usually use for Facebook, if you can.
- For Instagram, follow Instagram's hacked account steps: check for an email from [email protected] and use "secure my account" if your email was changed.
- If that fails, request a login link from "Forgot password?", then request support from Instagram on a mobile device, giving a secure email address only you can access.
- Expect an automated reply from the Support Team at Meta. It may ask for the email or phone you signed up with and your device type, or a video selfie if the account has photos of you. Instagram says that video is deleted within 30 days.
If the attacker changed both the email and phone, our walkthrough for a Facebook account where the hacker changed the email and phone goes through each recovery option in order.
#Meta Verified: The Standard Route to a Human Agent
Meta's page on Meta Verified support says enhanced support offers direct help from human agents through chat and email, and that it is only available while the subscription is active. Every plan includes chat and email support; higher plans add prioritised handling, a phone callback request and case monitoring. Phone support here means requesting a call from an agent inside the app, never dialling a number you found online.
- Chat runs only in the Facebook and Instagram mobile apps, not on a computer, and Meta says it may not work in a mobile browser.
- Chat and email are offered in a list of languages that includes Malay, Chinese and English.
- You must be logged into the verified account to open or view a case. If you are already locked out, you usually cannot reach it.
- Meta lists general account access and security among the issues it handles.
Whether subscribing helps an account you have already lost is a separate question. Our guide on what Meta Verified support can do for a hacked account covers that decision honestly.
#Advertisers and Business Pages: Business Support Home
If you spend money on Meta ads, your channel is different. Meta's phone support page has a separate section for advertisers, and Meta Business Support Home is where you review the status of ad accounts, business portfolios and Pages, and contact support. Businesses with Meta Verified also get chat and email agents. For a disabled ad account, a restricted business portfolio or a rejected ad, start there rather than in the personal Help Centre, and keep the account IDs ready.
#How to Write a Support Request That Gets Acted On
Whether a human or an AI reads it, a clear first message saves rounds of back and forth. Meta asks Meta Verified users to give as much detail as possible and attach screenshots or videos. This checklist works for every channel:
- One sentence on the problem: "My Instagram was hacked on 2 October and the email was changed."
- Your profile link or username, and the email and phone originally on the account.
- The exact on-screen message, quoted, with a screenshot showing the date.
- What you already tried, in order, so the reader does not send you back to step one.
- Any security email you received, such as an email-change notice, as a screenshot rather than a forwarded link.
- The case ID, written down somewhere outside the app.
Do not submit the same form again and again. Repeated identical requests add nothing new for a reviewer and can bury the one that matters.
#Fake Meta Hotlines and Support Agents: A Checklist
People who search for a Meta phone number are exactly who scammers wait for. Meta's advice on messages asking for your password says not to share your password in any message and not to trust messages that demand money or threaten to ban your account. Our breakdown of the fake Meta support scam shows the full script; here are the signs to check against:
- A "Facebook Malaysia" or "Meta helpline" number in a search result, ad, website or post. Meta says it has no general public number.
- A reply under your complaint in comments or a Facebook group from an account calling itself Meta support or a recovery agent.
- A Telegram or WhatsApp contact who says they are "Meta staff" or have a contact inside Meta.
- A request for your password, a login code, a backup code or a screen share.
- A request for money to "restore", "unban" or "verify" the account, often by bank transfer, e-wallet or crypto.
- A promise of a certain result, a fixed recovery time or a way to skip the official process.
- Messages in Bahasa Malaysia or Chinese promising "akaun dipulihkan segera" or "保证找回". Language is no proof of anything.
If the question is really where to email Instagram, our guide on whether an Instagram support email exists explains which addresses are real and why none of them is a recovery inbox.
#If You Called a Fake Number, Paid or Shared a Code
Act on the money first. The NSRC's FAQ on the NFCC website says to call your bank's 24-hour hotline or the NSRC on 997 as soon as you notice an unauthorised transaction, then make a police report. Then change your Facebook or Instagram password from the app, log out other sessions, and turn on two-factor authentication.
If you visited a fake Meta login page or installed something a "support agent" sent, report it to CyberSecurity Malaysia's Cyber999, which accepts reports by online form, email, phone and its mobile app. Keep the phone number, chat and payment receipts as evidence.
#What No Support Channel Can Promise
Reaching a human is not the same as getting the result you want. Meta Verified agents, the AI assistant and Business Support Home all work inside Meta's policies and systems. Some hacked accounts are recovered, some disabled accounts are reinstated on appeal, and some are not. Meta makes the final decision, and no subscription, agent or outside service can change that.
#When a Case Review Makes Sense
Most people can work through the channels above alone. An independent second look helps when the recovery flow keeps looping, the email, phone and 2FA were all changed, or a business Page or ad account depends on the outcome. SocialSafe by AwareXone reviews the case first, works only through the same official Meta processes, never asks for your password, login codes or backup codes, and tells you honestly when an account is unlikely to come back. You can start from our social media recovery hub, and our Trust Center sets out what we will and will not do.
