## Short answer

A rejected TikTok appeal means TikTok reviewed its decision and kept it. Read the notice: follow any instruction about sending new information, and send only facts TikTok did not have, through its own forms. Violations expire after 90 days, so restrictions may ease. If the account is banned, download your data now. TikTok decides.

## Summary

- A rejected appeal means TikTok looked at its decision again and kept it, so the removal, restriction or ban stays in place for now.
- Read the rejection notice closely and follow its wording, because some notices say you may send new information later and others say nothing at all.
- Only genuinely new facts are worth sending, such as proof that a hacker posted the content, and they go through TikTok's own Report a problem form or in-app chat.
- TikTok says violations expire after 90 days, so restrictions tied to them may ease with time, but a banned account should download its data straight away.
- Do not open a new account, file the same appeal again and again, or pay anyone who promises an unban, because none of that changes TikTok's decision.
- TikTok makes the final call and does not publish a number of allowed appeals, so some rejected accounts and posts never come back.

You appealed, you waited, and TikTok said no. Maybe it was a removed video, a feature you can no longer use, or the whole account. Now the Appeal button has gone or leads nowhere, and you want to know if that was your only chance.

The short answer: a rejection keeps TikTok's decision in place, but it does not always close every door. What is still open depends on what was decided, what your rejection notice says, and whether you have facts TikTok has not seen yet. Repeating the same appeal is not one of the open doors.

This guide explains what a rejected appeal means for each kind of TikTok decision, what counts as new information, where it can go, what lifts on its own, and the mistakes and scams that follow a rejection.

## What Can You Do After TikTok Rejects Your Appeal?

First, screenshot the rejection and read it slowly. If it says you may send new information, follow its exact wording, including any waiting period it names. If you have a fact TikTok did not have, such as proof that someone else controlled the account when the content went up, send it once through TikTok's [Report a problem form](https://www.tiktok.com/legal/report/feedback) or the in-app chat. If the account is banned, download your data today. For smaller restrictions, TikTok's [help page on violations and bans](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7543604781940791864) says violations expire after 90 days. Nobody outside TikTok can overturn the decision for you.

## What "Appeal Not Approved" Actually Means

When TikTok rejects an appeal, it means a reviewer looked at the decision again and kept it. People commonly report seeing "Appeal not approved" in the app, and some report an email that says "If you have new information, feel free to submit another appeal". TikTok's help pages do not publish this wording, and it varies by decision type, app version, language and region. In BM you might see it described as rayuan tidak diluluskan; Chinese speakers often search 申诉失败.

TikTok's [Community Guidelines on enforcement](https://www.tiktok.com/community-guidelines/en/enforcement) say that once an appeal is filed, you can view its status in the in-app Safety Center, along with the status of reports you made about other accounts. That screen is the official record. An email or direct message claiming a different result is not.

## What a Rejection Means for Each Kind of Decision

TikTok appeals cover several different decisions, and a rejection leaves each one in a different place. Find your row first.

*What a rejected TikTok appeal changes for each type of decision, based on TikTok Help Center and Community Guidelines pages read on 5 October 2026.*

| What was appealed | What the rejection leaves in place | What is still open |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A removed post | The post stays down and the violation stays on your record | Violations expire after 90 days. Send new facts only if TikTok lacked them |
| A post ineligible for the For You feed | The post is still not shown in the For You feed | Post new content within the guidelines; check analytics for the reason |
| A feature restriction, such as posting or commenting | The restriction runs its course | Check Account check; restrictions can lift as violations expire |
| A permanent account ban | The account stays banned and its data is deleted after a period | Download your data now; send genuinely new facts if your notice allows |
| An underage ban | TikTok deletes the account on a published day count | Download your data inside the window TikTok gives |
| A TikTok Shop or seller decision | Seller rules sit in Seller Center, not the main app | Follow the seller appeal steps shown in Seller Center |

For the ineligible feed case, TikTok's help page says you review the reason in post analytics and appeal from there, and that analytics must be turned on first. Our guide to [a TikTok video under review or ineligible](https://www.awarexone.com/research/tiktok-video-under-review-ineligible) covers that screen in detail. TikTok Shop has its own rules, which our guide to [a deactivated TikTok Shop account in Malaysia](https://www.awarexone.com/research/tiktok-shop-account-deactivated-malaysia) explains.

For an underage ban, TikTok's [underage appeals page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7611808266502560268) says that if the appeal is not approved, the account is deleted on day 120 for users outside the EEA, UK, Switzerland and US, which includes Malaysia. You can download your data for 113 days from the date of the ban. Our [TikTok age verification appeal guide](https://www.awarexone.com/research/tiktok-age-verification-appeal) walks through the proof options.

## Read Your Rejection Notice Before Doing Anything Else

The notice is the only instruction that applies to your case. TikTok does not publish a general second appeal rule, a deadline for one, or a number of appeals allowed. So the notice decides what you do next.

- If it invites new information, note any waiting period it gives and wait until that period ends.
- If it shows no further option, treat the decision as final for now and focus on your data and on what lifts with time.
- If you cannot find the notice, check "Inbox", then "System notifications", then "Account updates", which is where TikTok's help page says violation notices sit.
- Screenshot the notice with the date visible before it scrolls away.

One more check helps. TikTok's [account status page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7543604781319756294) says Account check, under Settings and privacy, Support, Safety Center, shows whether login, posting, comments, profile editing or messages are restricted. A warning sign means an issue; a tick means none. That tells you exactly what the rejection left in place.

## What Counts as New Information

A second look only makes sense if TikTok would see something different. The same appeal in stronger words is not new. Here is how to tell the difference.

*What TikTok might treat as new information after a rejected appeal. TikTok does not publish its review criteria; this is a practical guide.*

| New information | Not new information |
| --- | --- |
| Proof the account was hacked when the content went up, such as security alerts or a password change email | Saying again that you did nothing wrong |
| The date you lost control of the account and the date you got it back | A longer or angrier version of your first appeal |
| Context that changes the meaning of a video, such as news reporting or satire that the clip alone did not show | Pointing out that other accounts post similar videos |
| Evidence the decision targeted the wrong account or the wrong post | Your follower count, income or brand deals |

If a hacker posted the content, secure the account first. TikTok's [phishing page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7543604785317091846) says to report a compromised account right away, change your password, turn on 2-step verification and check your security alerts and logged-in devices.

## Where Genuinely New Facts Can Go

TikTok's help pages do not list an email address for appeals. At the time of writing, the routes they describe are:

1. The appeal option in the notice itself, if your notice invites another appeal.
2. The in-app chat: Profile, the menu button, Settings and privacy, Help Center, then "Chat with us", as TikTok's [Report another issue page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7611806801709029899) describes.
3. The online [Report a problem form](https://www.tiktok.com/legal/report/feedback), which lists an "Account access / security" topic. Use it if the ban is tied to a takeover or you cannot log in.

Send one message, not five. Give your username with the @ handle, the date of the decision, what you think TikTok did not know, and the evidence. These routes do not oblige TikTok to reopen a decision, so keep your expectations honest.

## Restrictions and Violations That Lift on Their Own

Time is the route most people overlook. According to TikTok's help page, account status reflects your violation history over the last 90 days, and violations expire after 90 days and are no longer taken into account. Repeated violations can lead to temporary feature restrictions, so a rejected appeal against a restriction can matter less than it feels. TikTok does not publish how long each restriction lasts, but avoiding new violations gives older ones time to expire.

TikTok also says that for certain early violations it offers optional in-app policy training, and completing it may lift eligible restrictions. That does not apply to severe violations. Note that deleting a flagged post does not remove the violation; TikTok says it may still reduce your status after you delete it.

> Note: **Expiry does not undo a ban.** Violations expiring after 90 days helps restricted accounts. It does not lift a permanent ban that was already applied.

## If the Account Stays Banned, Save Your Data Now

TikTok's bans page says a banned account can still log in to appeal and download personal data, and that TikTok deletes that data after a period under its retention policy, after which the account is no longer available. It does not publish that period for non-age bans, so do not wait.

1. Log in and go to Profile, the menu button, "Settings and privacy", then "Account".
2. Tap "Download your data", choose what to include and a format, then tap "Request data".
3. Wait for the in-app notice. TikTok's [data request page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7543597460594285112) says the file may take a few days to prepare.
4. Open the "Download data" tab and tap "Download". The file stays available for up to 4 days, so move it off your phone.

Our article on [a permanently banned TikTok account](https://www.awarexone.com/research/tiktok-account-permanently-banned) covers the ban itself, including the reasons TikTok gives for permanent bans.

## Should You Try Again? A Quick Decision Path

- Was it a removed post or a feature restriction? Let it expire, avoid new violations, and send new facts only if you have them.
- Was it an underage ban? Download your data inside the published window and follow the age appeal options in the notice.
- Was it a permanent ban with an invitation to send new information? Wait out any period the notice names, then send one message with evidence TikTok did not have.
- Was it a permanent ban with no further option shown? Save your data and accept that TikTok has decided, unless a hack explains the content.
- Was the account hacked before the violation? Recover and secure it, then use the Account access / security topic with your evidence.

## Mistakes That Make a Rejection Harder to Reverse

- Opening a new account while the ban stands. TikTok's bans page says it may restrict or ban accounts used to avoid a restriction or ban on another account you own, for as long as that ban is active.
- Sending the same appeal through every channel at once, which gives TikTok nothing new to review.
- Deleting content you appealed, which TikTok's [account safety page](https://www.tiktok.com/support/faq_detail?id=7543604780950624824) says may stop the violation being cleared even if an appeal succeeds.
- Asking friends to mass report or mass message TikTok for you.
- Paying an "unban" seller or handing your login to anyone.

> Warning: **Unban sellers, fake appeal emails and Telegram insiders.** A rejection is when the offers arrive: comments promising to "buka balik akaun", Chinese posts offering 解封, emails dressed up as a TikTok appeal result, or Telegram contacts claiming someone inside TikTok. TikTok says it will never contact you to ask for your password, verification codes or other sensitive personal information. Nobody can sell a reinstatement. Never share your password, login code, 2-step verification code or backup code with anyone.

## If You Paid an Unban Seller in Malaysia

Act on the money first. The National Scam Response Centre's [FAQ](https://nfcc.jpm.gov.my/index.php/en/about-nsrc) says to contact your bank's 24-hour hotline or call 997 as soon as you notice an unauthorised transaction, and that a police report should be made within 24 hours. The same page says the NSRC, the police and your bank will never ask for your password, PIN, TAC or OTP.

A fake TikTok appeal page or phishing email can be reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia's [Cyber999](https://www.cybersecurity.my/portal-main/services/cyber999-overview), the national point of contact for computer security incidents, through its online form, email, phone or mobile app. If you handed over your login, change your password and remove unknown devices as soon as you can get in.

## When a Case Review Makes Sense

Most people can handle a rejected appeal alone with the steps above. A second opinion helps when the account carries a business or creator income, when a hack and a violation are tangled together, or when you cannot tell whether your new evidence is really new. SocialSafe by AwareXone, our recovery service, reviews your notices and what you have already sent, then tells you plainly whether an official route is still worth trying. Sometimes the answer is that it is not.

Legitimate help looks the same wherever you find it: a case review before anything is agreed, only TikTok's own appeal and report routes, best effort with no promise of a result, and never a request for your password or codes. Our [TikTok account recovery page](https://www.awarexone.com/social-media-recovery/tiktok-account-recovery) explains how the review works, and our [Trust Center](https://www.awarexone.com/trust) lists what we will never ask for.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can I appeal again after TikTok rejects my appeal?

Only if your notice offers it. TikTok does not publish a general second appeal rule or a number of allowed appeals, so follow the wording of your own rejection and send new information only.

### How long does a TikTok restriction last after a rejected appeal?

TikTok does not publish a fixed length for every restriction. It says violations expire after 90 days, so check Account check in the Safety Center to see what is still restricted.

### Will deleting the video remove the violation?

No. TikTok says deleting violative content does not remove the violation, and deleting appealed content can stop the violation being cleared.

### Is there an email address for TikTok appeals?

TikTok's help pages do not list one. The routes they describe are the appeal option in the notice, the in-app chat and the Report a problem form on tiktok.com.

### Can someone pay to get my TikTok account unbanned?

No. Only TikTok can reverse its decision. Anyone selling an unban or asking for your login or codes is running a scam, and AwareXone never asks for either.
