## Short answer

Meta says a revoked Meta Verified subscription loses all benefits immediately, including support and open cases. Check your email and in-app notifications for the reason, compare it with Meta's list, fix what applies, such as eligibility, policy compliance or profile name, and then re-apply if you meet the requirements. Meta does not promise approval.

## Summary

- Meta says that when a Meta Verified subscription is revoked, you immediately lose all subscription benefits, including support and any open cases with the support team.
- Meta lists a failed pay method, verification failure, rejected profile updates, policy violations, account deletion, bundle or account type changes, eligibility changes and app store changes as reasons.
- Meta says it will attempt to notify you by email and in-app notification, so check both before assuming why the badge disappeared.
- For a bundle removal or account type change, Meta says revocation comes no later than 7 days on, and reversing the change within that period keeps it active.
- Take care with each step, because edits to a verified profile name or an unapproved change can themselves put the subscription at risk.

One day your name has a verified badge. The next, it has gone. There may be an email you did not read, or nothing at all, and your Meta Verified chat window no longer opens. You want to know whether the subscription was revoked, why, and whether you can get it back.

The short answer: Meta has an official page on [revoked Meta Verified creator subscriptions](https://help.instagram.com/1185051223120499/). It says a revoked subscription loses all benefits at once, lists the reasons a subscription may be revoked, and says you can re-apply once your account meets the eligibility requirements and follows the policies. It does not promise approval, and it gives no re-review time.

This guide explains what revoked means, how it differs from cancelled, the reasons Meta lists with what to check for each, the 7-day limit after a change, the profile name rules, and what to do before you apply again.

## What Does Revoked Mean?

Meta's page says that when your Meta Verified subscription gets revoked, you immediately lose all subscription benefits. It says this is different from cancelling a subscription, where you typically keep access to benefits for a time afterwards.

The page adds a detail that catches people out. Loss of benefits includes support and any open cases with the support team. So if you had a case open with Meta Verified support, Meta says that access ends when the subscription is revoked.

On notice, the page says Meta will attempt to notify you by email and in-app notification. It says attempt, so a missing email does not prove nothing happened. Check your inbox, spam folder and notifications in the app.

## Why Was My Subscription Revoked?

The revoked page lists common reasons. Use the table to match your situation, then read the matching row in the next section.

| Reason Meta lists | What the page says | What to check |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pay method failure | The subscription is cancelled if the method you pay with fails and there is no backup method on file | Whether your method failed and whether a backup was set |
| Verification failure | The subscription is cancelled if verification does not pass the review process | Whether your name matches your government ID |
| Profile updates | If changes to your verified profile are not approved because they violate policies, the subscription may be revoked | What you edited recently |
| Policy violations | If your verified account violates the policies, the subscription is revoked | Notices from Meta about the account |
| Account deletion | If you delete the verified account, the subscription is cancelled | Whether the account was deleted |
| Account removed from bundle | Revoked no later than 7 days on if you remove a verified account from a bundle | Whether anyone changed the bundle |
| Change in account type | Revoked no later than 7 days on if you switch from a business to a personal account | Whether the account type changed |
| Change in eligibility | Cancelled if you no longer meet the requirements, for example by moving to a country where Meta Verified is not available | Your location and eligibility |
| App store changes | The subscription may be revoked if you change it directly in an app store, for example changing your plan | Whether you changed it outside Instagram or Facebook |

Note the verbs. Some rows say revoked, some say cancelled, and some say may be revoked. Meta's page treats the headline as revoked or unexpectedly cancelled, so a badge that vanished after the method you pay with failed can look the same as one removed for a policy breach. Only your own notices tell you which applies.

## What Is the 7-Day Limit?

Two rows have a window. If you remove one of your verified accounts from an existing bundle, or you switch your Instagram account type from business to personal, Meta says the subscription will be revoked no later than 7 days after the change.

The page then says that if you re-subscribe that account to the same bundle within the period, the subscription stays active. If you switch back to a business account within the period, it also stays active. It adds a caution: make sure you are still connected to the same business you originally purchased the subscription for.

The practical point is that a change made by someone else with access to the account can start the clock without your noticing. If your badge went after a recent change to the account type or bundle, check first whether you can reverse that change.

## What Do the Profile Name Rules Say?

Meta's page on [profile name eligibility](https://www.facebook.com/help/1502500157096706) says your verified profile name must match the legal name on your government ID. If eligible, you may be able to use a different name that meets Meta's naming standards, but this is not available to everyone. If your legal name is a single word, you may not be able to use it because Meta requires a first name and surname.

When updating your verified name, the page says the new name needs to be similar to the name you originally signed up with. For a bundle with more than one verified profile, each profile may need similar names.

| Accepted formats | Not accepted |
| --- | --- |
| Abbreviations, such as Sid for Siddharth | Symbols, numbers, unusual capitalisation, repeating characters or punctuation |
| Spelling variations, such as Maria and Marya | Characters from multiple languages |
| First initials, such as LM for Lisa Marie | Certain titles, such as religious titles |
| Compound names, such as Mary and Mary-Lou | Offensive or suggestive words of any kind |

There are edit limits too. The page says that on Instagram you can update your profile name twice every 14 days, and on Facebook once every 60 days. Changes must be reviewed and approved before they show, the page says reviews can take up to three days, and while an update is pending you may not be able to make more edits. Profile name changes may be rejected if they do not meet the policies or the eligibility rules.

This links back to the revoked page. A profile update that is not approved because it breaks the policies may lead to revocation. So a rushed second name edit while the first is still pending is a risk you create yourself.

## What Should I Check Before I Re-Apply?

Meta's revoked page says that if you want to re-apply, make sure your account meets the eligibility requirements and follows the policies, and that you may need to update your account or the way you pay before signing up again. Meta's page on [eligibility requirements](https://help.instagram.com/2419286908233223/) lists what you need.

- Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country of residence.
- Be located in a country where Meta Verified is available.
- Have an eligible Instagram or Facebook profile: a professional creator profile or a personal profile.
- Have a government-issued photo ID.
- Not exceed the number of times you can change your profile within a certain period before applying, such as changes to the profile name, picture, username, location or profile type.
- Agree to the Meta Verified Terms of Service and follow the Instagram Terms of Use, Facebook Terms of Service and Community Standards.
- Have Advanced Protection turned on, and meet the minimum activity requirements.

Meta says eligibility requirements are subject to change. Its [manage your subscription](https://help.instagram.com/364808172702736) page says only profiles included in your subscription receive verified status and benefits, and that it covers checking your verification status and verified profiles. Use it to confirm which profiles are covered.

## What Not to Do

- Do not buy a badge from a third party. Meta's pages describe only its own subscription.
- Do not click links in messages that say your badge will be restored if you act now. Go to the official Help Centre pages yourself.
- Do not share your login codes or password with anyone who claims to be Meta Verified support.
- Do not edit your verified name repeatedly. The edit limits and review rules above apply.
- Do not delete the account to start again. Meta lists account deletion as a reason for cancellation.

## What Meta Does Not Say

Meta's revoked page does not name an appeal form, does not state a review time and does not say that a re-application will be approved. It says you may need to make updates before signing up again. We have not found official wording on how to restore a revoked subscription without applying again. Treat any claim of a certain fix as unsupported.

## When It Is Safer to Get Expert Help

The steps above are the official route, and you can follow them yourself. The risks are specific. Meta says a revoked subscription loses support and open cases at once, so you cannot rely on Meta Verified support to guide you through the fix. A rejected profile update can itself revoke the subscription, edit limits apply and a pending review blocks further edits, so a wrong or repeated step can delay you. A change of account type or bundle starts a period of no more than 7 days that is easy to miss. People who sell fake badges can also target creators in this position.

If you are unsure about any step, or the account matters for your income or business, handing the case to an experienced team such as AwareXone is the safer choice. We can help you work out which reason applies, check your name and eligibility before you re-apply and avoid fake badge offers. See our [social media verification help](https://www.awarexone.com/social-media-verification) page, and use the Apply for Case Review button at the end of this guide.

## When a Case Review Makes Sense

If you cannot tell why the badge went, your notices conflict, or you run a business account where a change was made by someone else, a review can help you sort out the cause before you act. SocialSafe by AwareXone is a Malaysia-based service, independent of Meta, that helps you use official routes. We never ask for your password or login codes and we cannot change Meta's decisions.
