## Short answer

Meta usually rejects business verification when the legal name, address or phone on your documents doesn't match what you entered. Use official documents showing your legal business name: a trade licence in the UAE, an ACRA BizFile in Singapore, Companies House records in the UK, or ABN details in Australia. Match details exactly and resubmit.

## Summary

- Name and address must match exactly.
- Use official registration documents.
- Utility bills or bank statements can support the address.
- Blurry or cropped scans get rejected.
- Use a domain or phone that matches the business.

Meta's accepted document list can vary by country, so check the help page. These are typical examples.

## Which documents does Meta accept?

| Country | Example document (AwareXone examples, not Meta's list) |
| --- | --- |
| UAE | Trade licence |
| Singapore | ACRA BizFile profile |
| UK | Companies House certificate |
| Australia | ABN or ASIC registration |

> Note: **The table below is examples, not Meta's list.** The country examples in the table are AwareXone's own guidance. Meta's accepted document types are listed on its Official documents to upload to verify your business page, and that page is the one to follow.

Meta's Official documents to upload to verify your business page says the documents you upload should validate the legal name of your business and its official postal address or phone number. The primary document types Meta lists are a certificate or articles of incorporation, a business registration or licence document, a government-issued business tax document such as a tax certificate, and a business bank statement. Self-filed tax documents are not accepted. A utility bill is accepted only for the business address and phone number, must show the legal business name, and cannot be used to verify the legal name itself.

Meta also says documents must not be expired and must be issued by the relevant authorities, and they must be in a supported language. The supported list includes Arabic, English, Malaysian, Mandarin, Hindi, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese among others. Meta asks you to cover any personal information it doesn't need, such as a social security number or its local equivalent. If you choose to get a verification code by email, you may also be asked to prove you own the website domain.

## How do I resubmit?

1. Correct the legal name and address in Business Settings.
2. Upload a clear, full document.
3. Add a matching utility bill if asked.
4. Verify by phone, email or domain.

Meta's Verifying your business in Meta Business Suite page says only business portfolio owners with full control can verify, and only when the portfolio is eligible. You start from Security Centre in Meta Business Suite on a desktop browser; if you can't open Security Centre, you may not have full control. Meta's About business verification in Meta Business Suite page explains that Security Centre shows either Start verification or Ineligible for verification, and that not every business needs or can complete verification.

Meta warns that if you give false or misleading information, try to verify a business you aren't authorised to represent, or try to get around the review, it may block verification, remove verified status or take more action on the account. Meta also notes that business verification is different from Meta Verified for businesses and won't give you a verified badge. If you pay for ads by monthly invoicing, Meta says you can verify with your line of credit details instead of documents.

## What common mistakes should I avoid?

- Entering a trading name that isn't on the document.
- Uploading cropped scans.
- Resubmitting the same document.
- Using a personal email domain.

## How do I check for problems and avoid fake Meta messages?

Meta's About Meta Business Support Home page says Business Support Home lets you review the status of your business portfolios, ad accounts, commerce accounts, catalogues and Pages, address issues with Meta's policies, see what to do if an account is disabled or restricted, and contact support. Its account overview shows whether your accounts or business portfolios are disabled or have advertising restrictions, with tabs for outstanding and resolved issues.

The same page says you can use the account overview to confirm whether an email, text or phone call about problems with your business accounts really came from Meta. Verification rejections attract scammers who offer to get you approved for a fee, or send fake verification links. Never share login codes or documents through a message link; open Meta Business Suite yourself.

## How do I keep the account safe while I sort this out?

- Never share a login code, password or backup code with anyone, including people who say they work for Meta, the police or a recovery service.
- Make sure the email address and phone number on the account are ones you still control, and remove any you do not recognise.
- Turn on two-factor authentication where the platform offers it, ideally with an authenticator app, and keep your backup codes somewhere offline.
- Log in only from the official app or by typing the address yourself, not from links in messages, comments or ads.
- Keep screenshots of every notice, email and step you take, with dates, in case you need them for a review or a report.
- Make one careful attempt at each official step rather than many rushed ones, because repeated failed attempts can trigger extra checks.

## When It Is Safer to Get Expert Help

Ask for help before you appeal if the account matters to your income, your business or your memories, if you have already had one appeal rejected, or if you cannot tell whether the problem is a bug, a restriction or a hack. That is where most avoidable losses happen.

### How long does it take?

Meta's business verification pages don't give a fixed time. Track the status in Security Centre in Meta Business Suite, and follow any email or notification Meta sends you about the request.

### Can I use a trading name?

Meta's Official documents to upload to verify your business page says your documents should validate the legal name of your business and its official postal address or phone number. Use the legal name exactly as it appears on the document you upload.

### Why rejected again?

Common reasons are a document that is expired, not issued by the relevant authority, in an unsupported language, or that doesn't show the legal name and address or phone number you entered. Fix the mismatch before you resubmit.

### Can you help?

Yes. AwareXone can check your documents and portfolio details in a free case review before you submit again.

### Can AwareXone check my case before I appeal?

Yes. AwareXone offers a free case review. Send us what you see on screen and what you have already tried, and an expert will tell you whether to appeal, wait or take another route. We never ask for your password or codes.
