## Short answer

Open Meta Business Support Home and read the reason for the rejection first. Then choose: edit the ad, make a new one, or request review if you think it was rejected in error. Meta says deleting the ad may remove your review option.

## Summary

- Meta's page says an edited rejected ad is automatically submitted for another review, so editing is one of three options alongside a new ad and a review request.
- Meta says that if you delete a rejected ad you may lose the ability to request another review.
- Meta's page says that if a re-review rejects the ad again, you cannot submit another review request for the same ad.
- Meta says requesting another review will not hurt your standing, and an overturned rejection does not count as an ad violation.
- Read the reason first. One wrong step, such as deleting the ad, can cost you the review, so know what you are doing before you start.

The email says your ad was rejected. Your campaign is not running, a promotion date is close, and you are not sure whether to fix the ad, start again or argue the decision.

This guide is about one rejected ad, not a disabled ad account. If your whole ad account or Business Manager is disabled, you need a different guide, and we link to ours below. Here we follow Meta's own help pages to compare the three choices Meta lists for a rejected ad, and the rules that decide which one to use. We cannot overturn a rejection, and no one outside Meta can.

## Is This an Ad Problem or an Account Problem?

| What you see | Level | Where to go next |
| --- | --- | --- |
| One ad, ad set or campaign shows as rejected | Ad level | This guide, and Meta Business Support Home |
| Your ad account is disabled, or every ad is blocked | Account level | Our ad account guides, linked below the table |

If your whole account is affected, read our guide on a [disabled ad account or Business Manager](https://www.awarexone.com/research/meta-ad-account-business-manager-disabled-guide) and the Malaysia-focused [ad account guide](https://www.awarexone.com/research/facebook-ad-account-disabled-malaysia). Meta's enforcement page separates the two. It says that if a policy violation is found at any point in the ad review process, the ad is rejected. Beyond reviewing individual ads, it says Meta may also review and investigate advertiser behaviour and may restrict advertisers that do not follow its standards. A single rejected ad is the first kind.

## What Does Meta Say to Do When an Ad Is Rejected?

Meta's [How to troubleshoot a rejected ad](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1210227555661027) page says that when an ad is rejected, you receive an email notification and a link to Meta Business Support Home, where you can find the reason for the rejection. After you review the reason, you can decide whether to edit the ad, create a new ad, or request another review. So the reason comes first, and the choice comes second.

| Option | What Meta's page says | Watch out for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Edit the ad | Edit it in Meta Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite to comply with the standards. It is automatically submitted for another review once edited | Meta recommends reviewing the policy-violating parts, such as image, video, text, targeting or landing page |
| Create a new ad | Create a new ad in Ads Manager or Business Suite to comply with the policies. You may delete the rejected ad | If you delete it, you may lose your ability to request another review, since Meta may no longer be able to access the information needed to review |
| Request another review | If you believe the ad was incorrectly rejected, request another review in Business Support Home | If rejected again, you cannot submit another review request for the same ad |

The page also says some ad types cannot be edited. If you cannot edit an ad, or choose not to, you can create a new one, but check the delete warning above before you remove anything.

## How Do I Request Review in Business Support Home?

Meta's page lists these steps:

1. Go to Business Support Home.
2. Select your account or catalogue with the rejected ads.
3. Select the ad, ad sets or campaigns that you believe were incorrectly rejected.
4. Click Request review and select Submit.

Meta says it aims to review and give a decision within 48 hours. Treat that as Meta's stated aim, as the page does not promise it for every case. You can track the status of any requested review in Business Support Home at any time.

If Meta changes its decision, the page says your ad will be in the same status as your campaign, and if the campaign is active, the ad starts delivering automatically. If it is rejected again, it stays rejected and you cannot submit another review request for the same ad. That is the key rule in this guide: one review request per ad. Use it with evidence in mind and not in a hurry.

The page says re-review relies more heavily on teams of human reviewers than the first review does. It also says Meta cannot promise to get things right on every occasion, even on re-review.

## What Does a Review Request Do to My Standing?

Two lines on Meta's page matter here. It says requesting another review of an ad will not hurt your standing with Meta in any way. It also says that if your ad rejection is successfully overturned, this will not count as an ad violation. On the other side, it says editing or deleting an ad that was rejected for violating the Advertising Standards will not remove the violation from your account, and that you can be restricted from advertising for severe or repeat ad violations.

So a review request is not a risk to your standing. A weak edit or a delete is not a fix for the record either. The rejected ad page adds that advertisers who severely or repeatedly violate the policies can have their business account, ad account, Page or user account restricted from advertising, and recommends a review if you believe an account was restricted incorrectly.

## Why Was My Ad Rejected After It Was Approved?

Meta's [Why some ads are approved, then rejected](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/133691315402558) page says previously approved ads can be selected for another review for various reasons, including when people hide, block, report or otherwise react negatively to an ad. Reasons may include a random check for accuracy, or unexpectedly high engagement, especially when people report, block or hide the ad. If you edit an ad that is already running, it goes through another review. If the ad is going through another review, you are not notified unless it is found to violate the standards. In that case it is rejected and delivery stops.

Meta's [About ads in review](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/204798856225114) page adds that an ad may not be reviewed against all policies before it delivers impressions, and that all ads are subject to re-review at any time. It says the review process starts automatically after you create or edit an ad, and that the status shows in the Delivery column of Ads Manager. It says most ads are reviewed within 24 hours, although in some cases it may take longer. Read that as a general statement and not a promise for your ad.

## What the Pages Do Not Say

The pages we read do not say why your particular ad was rejected, because that sits in your Business Support Home. They do not list which edits will pass review, and they do not say that a review request will succeed. The rejected ad page says Meta may not share some details about how its review systems work. We do not know how your case will end, and we will not guess. We also do not suggest hiding or disguising the content that triggered the rejection.

## When It Is Safer to Get Expert Help

Some rejected ads are sorted by a careful edit, and the official route comes first. The risks are plain. Meta's page says deleting the ad may remove your chance to ask for review, and that a second rejection means no further request for the same ad. It also says repeated or severe violations can lead to account restrictions. People with a rejected ad also get messages from strangers who say they can get ads approved, or who ask for access to your Business Manager. Meta's pages describe Business Support Home as the route, and no one needs your password. Our guide to [spotting fake recovery services](https://www.awarexone.com/research/account-recovery-scams-how-to-spot-fake-recovery-services) lists the signs.

If you are unsure about any step, or the ad matters for your sales, handing the case to an experienced team such as AwareXone is the safer choice. We can help you read the reason, decide between edit, new ad and review, and word the request clearly. We never ask for your password. See our [Business Manager recovery help](https://www.awarexone.com/business-manager-recovery) page, and use the Apply for Case Review button at the end of this guide.

## When a Case Review Makes Sense

If several ads have been rejected, the reason does not match your ad, or you have only one review request left for an important ad, a review can help you plan before you press submit. SocialSafe by AwareXone is a Malaysia-based service, independent of Meta, that helps you use the official routes. We never ask for your password or login codes, and we cannot change Meta's decisions. See how we work on our [trust page](https://www.awarexone.com/trust).
