## Short answer

TechCrunch reported in December 2025 that Facebook was testing a link-posting limit for some professional accounts and Pages. If your link posts are hidden or blocked, check whether a limit notice appears, check Page quality for violations, and put links in comments or use non-link posts in the meantime.

## Summary

- Meta One Advanced lists links in organic posts as a paid feature.
- Low-quality links can get reduced distribution.
- Spam rules cover misleading links.
- Check Account Status for restrictions.
- Features vary by region and account.

Here's what Meta's own pages say about link posts on Facebook. Meta has not published a full help article on link limits, so treat anything beyond the sources below as unconfirmed.

## Test or violation?

| Sign | Likely |
| --- | --- |
| Notice about link limits | A feature limit on your account or plan |
| Page quality shows a violation | Restriction |
| Specific domain blocked | Domain flagged |
| Posts load but reach is low | Distribution, not a block |

There are three different things that can make link posts look hidden, and they need different fixes. The first is a feature limit. In its September 2026 announcement Introducing Meta One, Meta lists "links in organic posts and reels" among the features of the Advanced business plan, and says plans, benefits, pricing and availability may vary by region, by app and by account. That suggests some accounts may see limits on link posts that a paid plan changes, but Meta has not published the exact limits, so we cannot tell you a number.

The second is reduced distribution. Meta's Transparency Center page Reducing the distribution of problematic content says Facebook shows fewer links to websites that are covered with ads, slow to load or broken, along with clickbait and engagement bait. Your post is still there, but fewer people see it. No notice usually appears for this.

The third is a violation. Meta's Spam policy covers misleading links that promise one thing and deliver another, deceptive landing pages and links that impersonate trusted domains. Posts with links like these can be removed and repeat cases can lead to restrictions on the Page. These do show up in Account Status.

## What can I do?

1. Check Page quality and Account Status.
2. Post natively with a link in comments.
3. Check your domain isn't flagged.
4. Consider whether a paid plan's limit is worth it.

## How do I check Account Status?

Facebook's Check your Account Status on Facebook page explains the route: click your profile picture, choose Help & support, then Account Status. It shows the status of your profile and the Pages and groups you manage, including Community Standards strikes, restrictions, limited monetisation and your recommendations status. If a link post was removed for a violation, it should appear there with an option to request a review where one is available.

## How do I check the website itself?

- Open the link on a phone with mobile data. Slow loading, pop-ups or broken pages are signals Meta says it uses to reduce distribution.
- Make sure the page delivers what the post promises. A headline that does not match the page can count as a misleading link.
- Avoid link shorteners and redirect chains that hide the final address.
- If a whole domain is being blocked across many posts, the domain may have been flagged, which is different from a limit on your Page.

## What about Meta One?

If Facebook shows you a message about link limits with an offer to subscribe, read the plan details carefully inside the app before you pay. Meta's announcement says the features available to your account appear when you start the subscription flow. A paid plan will not fix a domain flagged for spam or a Page restriction from a violation.

## What common mistakes should I avoid?

- Posting the same link repeatedly.
- Using shorteners.
- Assuming it's a ban.
- Ignoring Page quality.

Do not delete and repost the same link many times to test it. Repetitive posting is one of the signals in Meta's Spam policy and can turn a simple reach drop into a real restriction. Do not buy engagement to push link posts either. Meta's Spam policy prohibits buying or exchanging likes, shares, follows or clicks.

## How do I keep the account safe while I sort this out?

- Never share a login code, password or backup code with anyone, including people who say they work for Meta, the police or a recovery service.
- Make sure the email address and phone number on the account are ones you still control, and remove any you do not recognise.
- Turn on two-factor authentication where the platform offers it, ideally with an authenticator app, and keep your backup codes somewhere offline.
- Log in only from the official app or by typing the address yourself, not from links in messages, comments or ads.
- Keep screenshots of every notice, email and step you take, with dates, in case you need them for a review or a report.
- Make one careful attempt at each official step rather than many rushed ones, because repeated failed attempts can trigger extra checks.

## When It Is Safer to Get Expert Help

Ask for help before you appeal if the account matters to your income, your business or your memories, if you have already had one appeal rejected, or if you cannot tell whether the problem is a bug, a restriction or a hack. That is where most avoidable losses happen.

AwareXone has solved 1,300+ cases and works only through official platform processes. Support is available 24 hours, every day. - Account Status shows strikes or a restriction on the Page and your income depends on it.
- Your domain seems blocked across Facebook and you do not know why.
- A review was rejected, or the notice says the decision is final.
- You are not sure whether a message about link limits or a paid plan is genuine.

### Is this permanent?

It depends on the cause. A plan-based feature limit can change with your plan, reduced distribution can improve if the website gets better, and a violation stays on Account Status for a period that Meta sets.

### Does Meta One remove limits?

Meta says its Advanced Meta One plan includes links in organic posts and reels.

### Can I appeal?

You can request a review when a post was removed or your Page restricted for a violation and Facebook offers that option. Feature limits and reduced distribution are not decisions you can appeal.

### Can you help?

Yes. AwareXone offers a free case review. Send a screenshot of your Account Status and an example post, and we will tell you which of the three causes it looks like.

### Can AwareXone check my case before I appeal?

Yes. AwareXone offers a free case review. Send us what you see on screen and what you have already tried, and an expert will tell you whether to appeal, wait or take another route. We never ask for your password or codes.
